Terms of use

Last updated: October 2026

These terms apply to your use of Auto Electrical Australia at blog.autoelectricalaustralia.com.au (the “site”), including its guides, forum and member accounts. The site is operated by Ozautoelectrics Pty Ltd, ABN 43 142 223 792 (“we”, “us”). By using the site you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site.

1. General information only

The guides and forum posts on this site are general information about vehicle electrical systems. They are not advice for your particular vehicle and are not a substitute for an inspection by a qualified auto electrician. Vehicles differ, and wiring, components and rules change. Always follow the vehicle maker’s instructions and the instructions supplied with any part. Please read our safety disclaimer before attempting any work.

2. Your rights under Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that cannot lawfully be excluded. Every other part of these terms, including section 3, applies only to the extent the law allows.

3. Your decisions and work are your responsibility

You are responsible for your own actions and decisions, including any work you do on a vehicle and any parts you buy or fit.

  • General information, not advice. Our guides are general information only. We don’t give advice about your particular vehicle or situation, and we don’t make recommendations about what you should do.
  • Member posts aren’t endorsed by us. Anything a member posts, including suggestions, opinions or advice, is theirs alone. It is not checked, endorsed or recommended by us, and it may be wrong or unsafe.
  • Your choice. Whether you follow anything you read here is your decision. Any communication or arrangement between you and another member is strictly between you and them. We are not a party to it.
  • Do your own research. Check the vehicle maker’s instructions, the instructions supplied with any part, and the road rules in your state before you start.
  • Use a qualified professional when needed. Where the law requires it, or where you’re not sure the work is safe for you to do, engage a qualified professional to advise you or do the work. Some work must only be done by licensed people, including high-voltage hybrid and electric vehicle systems, airbag (SRS) systems, air conditioning refrigerant handling and fixed 240V wiring.

Vehicle electrical work can cause injury, fire, damage to the vehicle and breaches of road rules. To the extent permitted by law (see section 2), we are not liable for any loss, damage or injury arising from your use of information on this site, from posts or communications by other members, from work you or anyone else does, or from the site being unavailable.

4. Member accounts

  • You can read the site without an account. You need a free account to post in the forum or use member features, and you must be 16 or older to create one.
  • Give accurate details and keep your password private. One account per person.
  • You are responsible for activity on your account. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has used it.
  • You can close your account at any time through your account settings or our contact page.
  • We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or our community guidelines, or if we stop running the forum. If you’ve been banned, please don’t create a new account.

5. Forum and comments

  • Posts must follow our community guidelines. The forum is for auto electrical discussion only.
  • Not allowed: foul language or swearing; disrespectful communication; slanderous or defamatory comments; complaints about other organisations of any kind (good or bad, including Ozautoelectrics); and self-promotion or advertising. Posts, comments and threads containing any of these will be permanently removed, and the member responsible may be banned. This rule applies the same way to every business, including Ozautoelectrics.
  • Don’t post anything that is unlawful or misleading, or that copies someone else’s work or photos without permission. Don’t post anyone’s personal information, spam, viruses or harmful code.
  • Only post content you have the right to share. You keep ownership of what you post, but you give us a free, ongoing, worldwide, non-exclusive licence to display, store, copy, edit for moderation, and remove it on this site and our related sites. This licence continues after you close your account, so discussions still make sense. Your posts then stay on the site without your username, and you can ask us to remove your personal details from your posts.
  • We may edit, move or remove any post, without notice, if we think it breaks these terms or the guidelines, or to keep the site safe, lawful, useful and on topic. We don’t have to publish or keep any post.
  • Posts are the views of their authors, not of Ozautoelectrics.
  • If your post causes someone to make a legal claim against us, you agree to cover our reasonable costs, to the extent the claim is caused by your post or your breach of these terms.

6. Reporting content

If you think something on the site is unlawful, defamatory, unsafe or uses your copyright work without permission, please tell us through our contact page. Include the page link, what the problem is and how to reach you. We’ll review it and may remove or edit the content while we do. To report a post that breaks the guidelines, use the report link on the post.

7. Links, products and advertising

Ozautoelectrics owns this site and sells auto electrical parts. Guides may link to products on Ozautoelectrics stores, and these links help fund the site. The site also shows advertising from Google AdSense. Ads are chosen by Google and are not recommendations from us. We do not recommend or rank auto electrical businesses. We are not responsible for the content of other websites we link to. You’re welcome to link to any page on this site, but please don’t frame our pages or suggest we endorse you.

8. Copyright

The guides, diagrams and design of this site are owned by us or used with permission. You may view, print or share a link to a guide for personal use, and use our content in any other way allowed by the Copyright Act 1968 (Cth). Otherwise you may not copy, republish or sell our content without written permission. Don’t use bots or scrapers to copy the site, including to train AI systems. Photos credited to other people are used under their licences, shown with each photo.

9. Privacy

How we collect and use personal information is set out in our privacy policy.

10. Changes to the site and these terms

We may change, pause or stop any part of the site. We may update these terms from time to time. Changes apply from the date shown at the top of this page and don’t apply to anything that happened before then. If we make a significant change, we’ll tell members by email or a notice on the site. If you don’t agree with a change, you can close your account.

11. Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia, and you and we submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Queensland. If any part of these terms is found to be invalid, the rest still applies.
